Technical decision-making anti-patterns

In this talk Francesco talks about technology decisions and how they are addressed within development teams. In particular, he delves into four decision-making anti-patterns that he has experienced first-hand and that he has noticed in various teams he has worked with over the years.

For each of these anti-patterns Francesco explains the problem they generate, possible causes and – above all – a series of tips on how to combat them.

Finally, he analyses the problem from a broader point of view, trying to understand what all these decision-making anti-patterns have in common and what the root cause of the problem might be: suboptimal corporate communication structures.

This talk is taken from the book “Decision-making for Software Development Teams” that Francesco is writing in collaboration with Avanscoperta.
